Seeing that "top pairing" posted in print, is enough to make a billy goat puke.

I don't see a single top pairing worthy defenseman in that lineup and 4 that are 3rd pairing.

They better play one hell of a team defense game tonight. The top line better hustle back to support, unlike last game.

This game might be a tough match-up: slow Flyers D against speedy MTL forwards. Flyers forwards must slow MTL down in the neutral zone.

Two games played so far. First game the issue was not enough pucks at the net, and not enough traffic. Played solidly away from the puck. Second game, enough goals scored, but a complete breakdown of team defense leading to a loss in a game they should've won. And also a slow start in both games. I'd like to see the team come out at the opening puck drop playing like they did at the end of the 2nd period against NJ. Don't wait to get behind before elevating and raising the emotion level and quality of play. Montreal is a team that plays with a lot of energy. Need to match that right off the bat.

Hopefully, Schultz and MacDonald play as well as they did against NJ. And the other pairs raise their level of play.

Yep, they whole team has to focus on their defensive responsibilities and hope to get a couple of PP Goals to win it. Not to mention Mason cannot let in any softies...like none!

I honestly hope so, but I have big worries. can't see how we deal with Montreal's speed. I think it will be more like a 6-3 Montreal win.

I really think we need to come back with Mase here.. We need a similar effort to what he gave us in Boston, then maybe we'll score to help him out.

You deal with speed by playing solid positionally, getting in on the forecheck, and playing with effort and emotion within the system. Also moving your feet from the opening puck drop. Flyers showed they can play a sound team game against a top team in Boston. Need to couple that with the offense that the found against NJ, and the Flyers can play with anybody.

The top line last game absolutely hustled back to support. Only problem is they didn't do anything once they got there, or went to the wrong man. But the top line has been the biggest problem with this team, after two games, in my opinion. I expect that to change.

I am pretty sure it will be Mase for us. I hope he plays sharp and Price has an off night. Price might be my favorite tender right now although I have a lot of love for Mase. Price makes the playing the position look so easy..

Funny thing is, the way Hockey is, Flyers will prob come out on fire and put a full 60 mins in and win vs one of the top teams in the East..lol

I hope you are right. I just can't see the defense being able to handle the Habs team speed in our end. They are all going to have to bring their A game. L Schenn must be physical and smart.
The PP must generate a couple of goals as well

Rarely the Habs win that easy.

3-2 Philly in OT

Great performance by both goalies.

For that to happen, I think Mase will have to play out of his mind and the D will really have to play well. I can picture the Habs flying into our zone like EA sports NHL 94 for sega with the offsides turned off..

I'm thinking id like to see Raffl and Schenn swap lines. Raffl has had good chemistry with this guys in the past. Schenn just doesn't seem to have that chemistry thus far. I realize they have only been together since pre-season and G was hurt most of it.

I really wanto see them give Schenn at least 10-15 games up with the line.. they need some time together to see how it works. I have my doubts because I think Schenn needs to play C to produce. They really need to leave the forwards be for a while to develop some continuity.

I think Shultz gets exposed tonight. This D can't skate with thd Habs. Ghost comes up next game.

If the Flyers have a strong forecheck, and play a sound positional 200 ft game with puck pressure in all 3 zones. The Habs won't be able to free wheel on the Flyers defense. It's a team game. The question is can they do that and will they do that.
